What age group does your holiday program cater for?

Our programs cater for primary school-aged children (Prep – Grade 6). 
Can my child attend your holiday program if they don’t attend the actual school?
Yes, we are a Nationally Approved Childcare Provider. We can accept children from any school in Victoria. 
 
What activities do you provide in your program?
We provide interactive hands-on incursions and exciting excursions, plus wide range of hands-on interactive daily activities and experiences including, art and craft, sport and recreation, indoor and outdoor games, building and construction, drama, music and performing arts, painting, science and cooking.  We also provide designated spaces such as entertainment spot with foosball and television, imaginative space with doll house and toy kitchen, quiet space for reading/rest, and much more. 
 
Do you use qualified staff?
We strictly employ appropriately qualified staff with all the mandatory qualifications as stipulated in the Children Services National Law and Regulations (i.e. Diploma in Teaching, Children’s Services or equivalent, Valid Working with Children Check, First Aid, asthma management and anaphylaxis training). We employ qualified teachers and student teachers with extensive experience in working with primary school-aged children. 
 
Do you provide food in your programs? 
Yes. We provide a variety of fruits and a healthy and nutritious afternoon snack every day. The children are also involved with preparing, cooking, serving and cooking their afternoon snack, which makes it all the more satisfying to eat! Please note; children will still need to bring morning tea and a packed lunch. 
 
What does my child need to bring with them to the program?
Your child will need to bring morning snack, packed lunch, water bottle, suitable clothing for the weather, suitable footwear (closed-toe shoes) no thongs or sandals, hat during summer programs, wide-brimmed hat (no baseball caps) and medication (if applicable). 
 
What information will I need to disclose about my child in the enrolment form?
You must disclose all relevant information about your child in the enrolment form (Including any medical conditions and allergies). 
 
How do I book into your school holiday program?
All bookings are made via our Parent Portal. All bookings MUST be made at least 7 days prior to the commencement of the program.
 
Do you have a closing date for bookings?
Yes. Bookings close 7 days prior to the start of the program.  
 
Can I still book my child after the booking closing date?
Yes. You can book after the closing date; however, we strongly recommend that you book early to secure your child’s place in the program because late bookings cannot be guaranteed.   
 
Can I book my child over the phone or via email?
No. We do not accept bookings over the phone or email.  All bookings must be made via our Parent Portal.  Children will not be accepted into our programs without a prior confirmed booking. 
 
Can I book additional days after the program has started?
Yes, you may book additional days after the program has commenced, provided we have a vacancy. Please speak to staff at the program to book additional days and ensure that you gain approval prior to attendance. Children will not be accepted for additional days without a prior confirmed booking.
 
Can I cancel my confirmed booking anytime?
Cancellations to any confirmed booking must be made in writing via email 7 days prior to the scheduled date of attendance. Otherwise you are obliged to pay the full fee. We do not issue refunds or credits in the case of illness or injury, and we are under no obligation to refund or credit any session a child does not attend.
 
When will I receive confirmation of my booking and make payment? 
Within 3-5 business days of submission, you will receive an email directly from Leapkids outlining your booking details with a link to your invoice (Please check your junk email). You will need to check the days booked and make payment within 7 days via Direct Deposit or Credit Card. Upon receiving your payment, you will receive a booking confirmation via email directly from Leapkids (Please check your junk email). 
 
How much is your daily fee?
Our fee schedule is $65.00 for a Standard Day (Non-incursion/excursion), $75.00 for incursions and $85 for excursions.  No additional fees are charged for excursions. A $10.00 administration fee will apply per family per program. 
 
What happens if I don’t pay my fees before the start of the program?
All fees must be paid in advance prior to the start of the program. Your booking will not be confirmed and your child will not be permitted to attend the program until we have received payment of the relevant fees. 
 
Will I be able to claim CCB and/or CCR?
Yes. Leapkids is a Nationally Approved Childcare Provider and able to apply CCB and/or CCR to eligible families. Most families will be eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and/or Child Care Rebate (CCR). Out of pocket fees will vary depending on CCB and/CCR entitlements. In order to apply CCB and/or CCR, you MUST provide us with the correct CRN for parent and child.
 
What time will I need to drop off and collect my child from the program? 
You may drop off your child any time after opening time (i.e. 7:00am) and collect any time during the day before closing time (i.e. 6:00pm).
 
Can I arrange for someone else to collect up my child from the program?
Yes, you can arrange for ‘Authorised Nominees/Emergency Contacts’ listed on your child’s enrolment form to collect your child. However, if the person is not listed on your child’s enrolment as an ‘Authorised Nominees/Emergency Contact’, then you must provide us with authorization in writing via email. This can be done on the actual day of attendance.
 
Is my child allowed to leave the program by themselves without an adult? 
No. Under no circumstances would we allow a child to leave the program without being signed-out and accompanied by a ‘parent/guardian/care giver or authorized nominee/emergency contact’ listed on the child’s enrolment form, or a person not listed on the child’s enrolment but authorized in writing via email to collect the child.
 
Do you charge a fee if I collect my child after the closing time?
Your child is expected to be collected up no later than 6:00pm (Closing time). A late pick-up fee of $15.00 per 15 minutes applies after the service closing time. Please contact the program directly as early if you will be running late to collect your child.
 
What happens if my child displays inappropriate behavior?
We encourage positive behavior at all times. However, if a child continuously demonstrates inappropriate behavior after guidance procedures have been followed, the parent/guardian will be notified and the child may be removed or suspended from the program.
 
Do you accept children with additional needs?
We support all children to participate in our programs. However, children with additional needs must be booked into our program at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure quality and responsive care can be provided to meet the needs of the child. Children with additional needs not booked 4 weeks in advance may not be able to attend our programs.
 
Can my child bring personal items to the program such as a phone, iPad?
We don’t encourage children to bring any personal items such as phones or iPads. We provide a wide range of hands-on activities, sport and indoor/outdoor games to keep children actively engaged and entertained. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal items that are brought to the program.   
 
How do I find out excursion details?
Information on planned excursions is emailed to parents before the start of the program including, departure and arrival times, destination and mode of transport, planned activities and staff to contact.
 
What should my child bring on excursions? 
Your child must bring a light snack, packed lunch, named water bottle, suitable clothing for the weather, suitable footwear (closed-toe shoes) no thongs or sandals, wide-brimmed hat (no baseball caps) and medication (if applicable). Please ensure your child does not bring any spending money or personal items such as phone or iPad.  Leapkids will not be held responsible for any lost or damage to personal items. 
 
How do I contact staff at the program?
We have a dedicated mobile number at each of our respective locations. Staff will provide you with this number on your child’s first day of attendance. Please save it to your phone for easy access. Please note; this mobile number will only be answered during the program operational hours (i.e. 7:00am – 6:00pm) and after 6:00pm in cases where a child has not been collected by 6:00pm. Do I have to agree to any terms and conditions before using Leapkids services?
Yes. It is condition that before using our services, you (Parent/guardian, care giver) must read and agree to our Terms and Conditions. Our Terms and Conditions form an understanding between you (Parent/guardian/care giver) and Leapkids Australia Pty Ltd. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before using Leapkids services.
